{daddy's girl}

Today I realized I am my daddy's girl. I always have been. Ever since I can remember my dad has been a man of routine and likes to have things organized, straightened, and cleaned. I am much like my dad in that aspect. I love my daily routines. Most days look like this: Wake up, pour myself a bowel of cereal {special k to be exact} turn on Will and Grace and check my email. After this, depending on what I have going on that day, I go for a run, get ready, make my bed and check off my to-do list. I love to-do lists, and so does my dad...

Today my dad is staying home from work to do a few odds and ends. I can hear him in the garage tinkering around with his tools, and moving things around to organize and clean. I'm in the house doing my laundry and checking off my own to-do list.

I love my dad...

{opportunities}

Today I have been thinking about opportunities...

According to Webster's Online dictionary, opportunity is defined as a good chance for advancement or progress.

With the academic year drawing to and end, I look back at this past year and would have to say I have learned a lot! Not only about how to write press releases and organize campaigns etc., but about myself and the person I want to become. I have been blessed with many opportunities to learn and grow. I can't help but feel grateful for every situation that has been thrown my way, good and bad!

The opportunities I have been given this past year include...

*Running the Top of Utah Marathon. I have been blessed to have a healthy body. I am convinced there is no other feeling like crossing the finish line after running for hours on end...

*Going to school and getting an education. Even though it's a grueling process and it's never ending, it gives me a confidence that is not easily found elsewhere.

*Writing my missionary who is serving in South Korea. Watching him serve and grow has inspired me to become a better person each day. I have loved how much our relationship has changed and progressed.

*Making new friends and doing adventurous things. I feel like I have really gotten out of my comfort zone this year! It has been so good for me, and taught me how to relax and take life as it comes.

*Landing an internship. This opportunity couldn't have come at a better time! It seems like everything happens for a reason. One door closes while another one opens. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn more about coordinating weddings/events this summer through Hamilton's. It will be an adventure!

*The ups and downs life gives me. Life isn't perfect and it's not supposed to be! I really feel like I have learned the most through my trials. I'm grateful for them because they are teaching me about the kind of person I want to be!

All in all, this year has been good to me. I'm excited for these next few months and all the things I have to look forward to but, I'm grateful for the things I have learned about myself this year...
